<h1>Betty Irvine</h1> 1936 – 2006 Died on September 27, 2006 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at the age of 69 years. Loving wife of Paul Irvine for 44 years. Devoted mother of Sean Irvine of Kitchener. Survived by her cousin Nancy O’Halloran of Picton, Ontario, brother-in-law, William Irvine and his wife Margaret Anne of Arlington Heights, Illinois, and sister-in-law Margaret Houseman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Bernice Thompson of Cherry Valley, Prince Edward County, Ontario. Betty Lou began her teaching career in Picton, Ontario, and then spent 33 years with the Waterloo County School Board as teacher, consultant, and administrator, retiring as the Principal of Rockway Public School, Kitchener. She was active in the community as a board member of the Y.W.C.A. and Parents For Community Living. During her retirement she enjoyed golfing, travelling, gardening, and reading. She especially enjoyed her summers at the cottage in Tobermory, and her winters golfing in Florida. The memorial service to celebrate Betty Lou’s life will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 2 p.m. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Cherry Valley.
