<h1>Norman "Gerry" Needham</h1> 1917 – 2007 Passed away suddenly at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the age of 89. Gerry served in the Navy (R.C.N.V.R.) during the Second World War. After the war Gerry attended the University of British Columbia where he studied Engineering. While Gerry was in University, he fell in love with Yukon working the paddlewheelers. Upon graduation, Gerry moved to Yukon where he was joined by his wife, Miriam. For 25 years, he worked in the Peel Plateau, on the dredges for Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation and the Federal Government. Upon his retirement he was the Regional Mining Engineer for the Federal Government in Yukon. Gerry is survived by his son, Mark and his wife Barb, and their children, Allison and Douglas, all of Yellowknife. Also survived by his brother, Dallas and his wife Pat of Ladysmith, Vancouver Island and his sister, Sister Lorraine Marie S.S.S. of Pueblo Colorado as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Miriam in September 2006, his sister, Bernice Richmond, his brother, Jack Needham and his parents, Jack and Stella Needham. At Gerry’s request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 1:00 pm.
