<h1>Erie "BinnIe" Smith</h1> (nee Barnes) 1918 – 2007 Erie died peacefully, after a determined battle with cancer, at St .Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener, on Saturday, February 10, 2007. She was in her 89th year. Predeceased by her loving husband G. Roddick Smith; son Rod “Rocky” Smith of Lamont, Alberta and daughter-in-law Valarie Smith. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter Margaret Jane Davis and her husband Robert; grandchildren Daniel, David and Sarah and her little male companion Tinker. Erie was known to many as Binnie, a name given to her as a nursing sister in the Canadian Army when she was stationed in Basingstoke, England during WW II. Erie’s family will receive friends at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo this evening (Monday) from 7 to 9 pm. The service to celebrate Erie’s life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 3 pm. Cremation will follow. Please join the family following the service for refreshments and a time to visit.
