Obituary of Maria de Groot

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 07, 2016 at the Village of University Gates, Waterloo, at age 94. Loved mother of Maria de Boer (Theo), Joss (Tina), Chris de Groot (Richard DeJong) Peter (Connie), Robert (Frances), and Janet Groen (John). Loving Oma of 21grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also will be missed by her daughter-in-law Wendy and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Cornelis and Maria Huijssoon, her husband Arie, a son Dick, three brothers and two sisters. A Memorial Service to celebrate Riet’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 54 Queen St. N., Kitchener on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Greg Smith officiating. A reception will follow at the church. A private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery prior to the service.
