Obituary of Robert "Bob" Schmidt

Passed away peacefully at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Doris Schmidt (2014). Loving Father of Doug and his wife Tineke and Debbie and her husband John McIntyre. Dear Grandpa of Stephen Goneau (Ainsley Vaculik), Mark (Sarah) Goneau, Matthew McIntyre, Kimberley (Mike) Whaling, Cameron (Melanie) McIntyre and Great-grandpa to Emily Goneau. Will be fondly remembered by his sister Joan McMichael, sister-in-law Rosie Schmidt and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Edna Schmidt; brothers Edward and Gary and sister Connie Detweiler. Bob was a long time member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church. He was employed for 46 years by Carling O'Keefe Breweries and later on by Labatt Brewery, Waterloo. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bob with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd. S., Waterloo on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Philip Mathai as officiant. A reception will immediately follow the service.
