Obituary of William "Bill" John Gildner

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the age of 90. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 28 years, Freda (nee Black) in 1981. Loving father to Paul of Waterloo, John (Jayne) of Port Credit and Brian (Susan Burt) of Toronto. Grandad to Amy, Drew and Callum. Also survived by his sister Doris Higgins and sister-in-law Colleen Gildner. He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Rosella Gildner and brothers Wib, Earl and Don. Bill was a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities and an accountant at Dominion Rubber/Uniroyal until his retirement in 1987. He was an avid curler, bowler and golfer, as well as a long-suffering fan of the Detroit Tigers. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
