Also remembered by Ruth's brother, Carl, and his wife Sue Hackman, of Lansdale, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Marian (nee Rosenberger), brothers-in-law John Kauffman and Mike Rivera. Don was an adopted father and grandfather to several generations of Laotian families. Don was deeply committed to family and faith. His love for Ruth was an inspiration to many. He had a contagious love for music which he passed down to his children and grandchildren. Don was a natural born salesman who worked in a variety of settings, which included The Country Kitchen (Toronto) and London Life (Kitchener). He modelled a strong work ethic and a sense of integrity in business dealings. His life motto and motivation was to “Keep an attitude of gratitude.” This was particularly helpful and inspiring in recent years as Don faced numerous health challenges. Special thanks to the many nurses, Personal Support Workers, and additional staff at Fairview for their compassionate care throughout the years. To honor Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Don with his family during visitation at Fairview Mennonite Home, 515 Langs Dr., Cambridge on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 1 - 2:30 p.m., with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service.
