Obituary of Vincent Jerome Nolan

With sadness, we announce that Vincent Jerome Nolan passed away at Columbia Forest Long-Term Care Centre on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the age of 79, after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Mary Ellen Nolan (nee Coulter). Remembered lovingly by his sisters Helen Miehm and Pat Hartleib, his in-laws Olinda Brienza (Jerry), Angela Holtham (Paul) and Pat Coulter, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth (nee Krauskopf) Nolan, brothers Dennis, Joseph, Louis, Frank and James, and sisters Dorothy Murray, Mary Tate, and Ann Stockie. Vince was born on a farm in McKillop Township. As a young man, he moved to Kitchener and worked at Arrow Shirt Company for 42 years. Vince loved to spend time at their trailer at Bayfield, fishing, boating, puttering, and playing cards. He never said no to a good game of cribbage. He loved to fix things and there weren’t too many things that were too much of a challenge for him. Vince was always willing to help anyone in need. He was one of the good guys and he and his dry sense of humour will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 2 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael RC Church, 240 Hemlock St. (at University Ave.) Waterloo on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at St. Michael’s church hall. Interment at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener will follow the reception.
