Obituary of Robert Andrew Linsley

Robert died on February 2, 2017 when he was hit by a car while cycling, one of his favourite activities. Robert was born on September 25, 1952 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia. Kitchener, ON became his home since moving there in 2001 with his wife to raise their own family. He is survived and profoundly missed by his parents, Alice (Pat) and Robert William, his wife, Yvonne, and their three children Maya, Theodore, and Aura, his brothers, Mark and David, his sister, Theresa, and 7 nephews and nieces. Robert lived his life rigorously defending and creating wonder and beauty through his work as a professor, lecturer, artist and writer. His legacy will live on through the countless friends, students, fellow artists and writers all over the world who adored him. Remembrances of Robert’s life and his contribution to the art world will be presented in the Waterloo Region Record this Saturday with various art press coverage to follow. Visitation will be held Monday, February 13th, 2:00pm-4:00pm at McCall Gardens (Royal Oak), 4665 Falaise Drive, Victoria BC, V8Y 1B4. Church services will be held on Tuesday, February 14th, 2:00pm, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4040 Nelthorpe St., Victoria, BC V8X 2A1.
