Obituary of Rod Hennige

Rod had a long battle with many ailments, but passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home in Waterloo, on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the age of 64. Rod is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Laura (nee Burton). Loving son of Marion Hennige. Father of Jason (Kim), Steve (Claudia), Rachel Simon (Paul), Shelly Duldhardt (Jeff), and Paul Vacon (Janik). Beloved and cherished Poppy of Logan, Brooklyn, Alexia, Bryce, Kelcie, Emily, Owen, Olivia, Matthaeus, Aiden, Abigail, Camden, and Charlotte. Dear brother of Rick (Sonya) Hennige, Kathy Fuendling, and Lisa (Dan) Bechtold. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Henry Hennige, grandson Lucca Duldhardt, and sister-in-law Jennifer Hennige. Rod was a great co-worker at Home Depot in Kitchener. He embraced every opportunity to be outdoors camping, houseboating, fishing, building a campfire, and traveling through the Smoky Mountains. Rod loved to be with his dogs Dexter and Roxy. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Rod during visitation at the New Apostolic Church, 416 Waterloo St., New Hamburg on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 4 – 5 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 5 p.m. Fellowship will follow.
