Obituary of Dora Beckner

In loving memory, Dora (Hoffman) Beckner passed away peacefully March 6, 2017, at Parkwood Mennonite Home at the age of 87. Dora has joined her mother Margaret Kraehling in heaven. She was predeceased by her parents, her husbands John Hoffman and Ward Beckner, as well as her son Kevin, she lost at birth. She is deeply missed by her daughters Shirley (Paul) Nequest and Sharon (Brad) Mavin. She was a treasured grandmother to her five grandchildren Kevin (Lynn) Nequest, Darryl (Claire) Nequest, Jessica Mavin (Andrew), Kyle Mavin (Stefanie), and Todd Mavin (Aaron). She will be missed by her six great-grandchildren Ashley, Nathan, Tyler, Morgan, Liam, and Dylan. She was born in Delta, Ontario. She moved to Waterloo in her early teens. We have many fond memories of her. She worked hard her whole life as a bookkeeper. She loved knitting, gardening, animals, and most of all her family. She was loving and kind, wanting everyone to be happy. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dora’s life will be held in the Chapel of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 3 p.m. A private family interment to take place at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
