Bryan Boldt

Obituary of Bryan Edward Boldt

Unexpectedly but peacefully, Bryan Boldt passed away in his home in Kitchener on April 4, 2017. Bryan is survived by his parents Ed & Marg of Kitchener; son Matt (Lindsay) of Ottawa; son Tyler (Haley) of Calgary; grandchildren Ava, Charlie and James of Ottawa; sister Wendy (Ed) of Ephrata, USA; niece Emily of Ephrata, USA; and sister-in-law Edith of Calgary. Bryan will be dearly missed by all. Bryan was predeceased by his brother Bernie, who passed away from cancer in 2009. Bryan was born on March 14, 1954 in Welland, Ontario. He graduated from Grand River Collegiate in 1972 and completed a commerce diploma at Wilfrid Laurier University in 1976. Bryan married Carol in 1977 and they headed west to pursue careers and start a family. Matthew was born in Regina in 1981 and Tyler in Thunder Bay in 1984. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1984, to Calgary in 1987 and back to Winnipeg in 1993, as Bryan followed promotions in a successful commercial property management career with Campeau, Trizec, Trilea, Schroders and Oxford. Bryan returned to Kitchener in 2004 where, particularly in the last few years, he was instrumental in supporting his ageing parents. Bryan was an inspirational “sports Dad” and was heavily involved as a volunteer with the Fish Creek hockey and Continental West baseball associations in Calgary, with the Tuxedo and River Heights community centres in Winnipeg, and with the Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association AAA Council. Some of Bryan’s favourite times were golfing with his family, including at Rockway in Kitchener and at Chesley Lake where the family owned a cottage for many years. A Memorial Service to celebrate Bryan’s life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday April 8th at 2:00pm. Condolences for the family and donations to KidSport may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
