Lorraine Munro

Obituary of Lorraine Munro

Peacefully, at her home, at the age of 81. Lorraine left us to join Ian, the love of her life and husband of 56 years, who predeceased her in 2011. While this great lady will be mourned by all, their reunion will be sweet. Lorraine was born in Sault Ste. Marie and lived in the Soo, Wawa, and in Waterloo, where she and Ian raised their five children. Her family was the center of her life. She worked in retail, and as an electronics technician at Electronic Craftsmen, NCR and Corman Industries. She enjoyed gardening, reading, exploring Canada and visiting with family. Lorraine was a superb cook, who was particularly famous for her apple pies. Her wisdom, love, and humour will be missed. Lorraine was predeceased by Ian, by her son, Larry, parents, Lucy and Ed Nolan, sisters, Bunny Robinson, Joanne Cizinoski, Mona Boychuk, and brother, Tuffy Nolan. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Marge Bates (Ken) Andrew Munro, Jim Munro, Rob Munro (Tonya), daughter-in-law Rose Munro, grandchildren Shannon Pellet (Chris), Matt Munro (Nicki); Dave Bates, Robbie Bates, Amanda Foreman (John), Megan McAuslan (Matt), Eric Munro, Dylan Munro, Tyler Munro, Alyssa Munro, her great granddaughter Violet Pellet, and sisters Frieda Havill, Elaine Toope, and Phyllis Moore. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday April 17, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Parish Prayers will be offered on Monday evening at 8:45 p.m. A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life, well lived, will be held at St. Michael’s RC Church, 240 Hemlock Street, Waterloo, on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Family will greet friends in the Parish Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the KW Association for Community Living, the Canadian Cancer Society, or Canadian Feed the Children (Canada) for the benefit of First Nations children would be appreciated and may be arranged through the funeral home at 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com
