Greg was great person in the city of Waterloo. The memories of him on the high diving board of the pool in Waterloo Park ... Tarzan yell ... priceless. He was a friend of all of us in the 1970's, and Greg came to all of our parties, all of our games. He was there for so many hockey players at the Waterloo Arena, he taught all of us a life lesson that made us all better. He love to sing "please release me", and had a great voice .. I missed so much of his life living in Western Canada but have read how much all of Waterloo loved Greg. You only needed to say his first name ... we all knew him. RIP my friend.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Greg. I have a little Greg story to share. On July 14 1973, my wedding to Phil Bauer was taking place at St. Anne's Church in Kitchener. Greg was a great friend of the Bauer family. It is quite a distance from Greg's home in Waterloo to St.Anne's on East Avenue in Kitchener. Not only did he walk all the way to the church to be there; but he photo-bombed my Dad and me!!! Greg can be seen in the pictures behind my crying father as he walked me up the aisle!!! God Bless you Greg!!

My sincere condolences to Greg's family and friends.
Greg was a true critic of my game or lack thereof in 1988 when I had a cup of coffee with the Siskins. He upbraided me for my lack of skill. He knew of what he spoke!
Years later I ran into Greg at a Laurier game and true to Greg he laughed and reminded me of my shortcomings.
I miss Greg. He was a fun loving guy and someone I looked for at the old barn.
Hope he gets all the sticks he can tape! God Bless.

Dear Fran
My deepest sympathies on the loss of your brother Greg. He became a part of the "ins and outs" lunch group, and he didn't seem to mind he was the only male there. We enjoyed his company as much as he seemed to enjoy being there.
I am sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral, because we have a funeral at Holy Name of Jesus parish Essex, and I do the bereavement ministry there.
You will be in my heart and my prayers.
Love
Judy

Words are difficult to find to describe the shock and sadness I am feeling. Greg has been a very special, cherished cousin for all our 75 years. We shared many laughs...many meals at the kitchen table st 252 Herbert on those treasured times I was in Waterloo...and during our last visits in the past few years, a glass or three of wine. Greg is a true legend in Kitchener-Waterloo and his absence will be felt again and again as new sports seasons get underway. Love to all our dear family. Greg will remain forever in our heart.

My family and I send along our deepest sympathies to Greg's family. We lived on Roger Street for many years and would see Greg at the rink, at the pool and the church parking lot playing road hockey with the boys. He always looked out for us kids. We will never forget him.
Sincerely,
Maurina, Kathy, Billy and Donnie O'Brien and families

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Greg's family. I grew up on John Street and have known Greg all my life. I have many, many fond memories of him in various aspects of my life.... from diving off the high diving board at Waterloo Park pool to playing road hockey in the neighbourhood with all the guys. He often came over and sat on our front porch talking to my father. Everyone loved Greg and he was always very respected. He will be missed by many, many people. Rest in peace Greg.

Greg was a great neighbour to me on union street. He was very protective of what went on in the neighbourhood. When my car was broken into Greg made it a point of watching our parking lot to be helpful. He was really upset by this and wanted to make sure we were all safe at # 43. When I married into the kirby family I was so happy to see that Greg was an appointed son to Norma. The Kirby family loved Greg and I was happy to have the many joyful times at the kirby home with Greg. He will be missed
