Obituary of Frances Mary Holbrook

Mary Holbrook passed away on June 5, 2017 at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener after a short illness.

She is survived by two children, Adam and Jane, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She lived a full and eventful life, growing up in England and immigrating to Canada in 1947 (along with her infant son, Adam) to join her husband George William Holbrook (1917 – 2008). She moved to Waterloo from Halifax NS, in 2003, with George, to be closer to her daughter Jane. Mary and George celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2004. She was the last of her generation in our extended family, all of whom will miss her.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Mary with her family during a memorial reception at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday June 12, 2017 from 4 – 6 p.m. in the funeral homes Kuntz House.

While living in Nova Scotia she developed a deep interest in painting with oils, water colour and pastels.
