Obituary of Judy Lynne Dennis

Judy passed peacefully, while her dear cousin Beverly was reciting the 23rd Psalm, at Freeport Hospital June 16th, after two years of living with cancer.

Left to mourn her passing are her loving partner Jim Meyer of Kitchener, Son Derrick Cowie of Blackie AB, Derrick's children Jack and Emily, Brother Dan Buss of Courtenay BC, Brother Pat Buss (Carol) of LaCombe AB, Sister Kellie (Jamie) of Dorchester ON, Sister-in–Law and best friend Judy Buss of Bright's Grove ON, Aunt Ileane O'Neill and family (London ON), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Predeceased by her Husband Wes Dennis, Derrick's Father Chris Cowie, Brother Doug Buss, and her Parents Ken and Ina Buss.

Judy was a graduate of Lambton College, and had an interesting and varied career at such places as Kern Valve (Sarnia), Forbes Motors, Boehmers, KW Handicapped Company, retiring a few years ago as secretary of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. Judy was a proud and active Legionnaire, in Corunna, Kitchener, and since 2010, Branch 530 Waterloo. She was a player and former Captain in the K-W Shuffleboard League, enjoyed her dart games at the ANAF Unit 247, and was pretty hard to beat at Euchre and Wild Rummy.

"Thanks" is not enough for the kind and caring Doctors, Nurses, and staff at K-W Hospital, Freeport Hospital, Waterloo Region Hospice, CCAC, and the Grand River Cancer Centre. Whatever they pay you angels of mercy, it is not enough. Special Thanks to Jeff Meyer, Jude Meyer, Bev Mulholland, Ron and Diane Hinschberger, and Pastors Katherine Altenburg and Richard Schwass for their kind assistance with Judy's care during her stay at Freeport.

Honouring Judy's wishes, there will be no formal Funeral or Visitation. There will be a memorial reception at the Waterloo Legion, 316 Marsland Drive, on Sunday June 25th from noon to 5, with a Legion Tribute Service commencing at 2:00 p.m.

Judy has asked that you not send flowers, rather, those who choose may make a memorial donation to the K-W Poppy Fund (www.kwpoppyfund.ca), or the "Wheels Of Hope" Programme (www.cancer.ca/en).

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Erb and Good Funeral Home, Waterloo.

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:2
