Obituary of Rosina Toper

Born in GrossSchogen, Romania on September 15, 1926, Rosina died peacefully at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in her 91st year.

Predeceased from her beloved husband of 53 years Martin Toper in 2003 and two infants; a son and a daughter, her parents Johann and Rosina (Wolf) Schneider, brother Johann Schneider, and sister Maria Groh.

Cherished mother of Rosemarie Rawlings and husband Larry, Monika Spaetzel and husband David, and Erica Norris and husband Greg.  Devoted and adored Oma to Andrew French, William (Laura-Lee), James (Amanda), Amanda (Jeff), Nichole and Blake and Big Oma to Evelyn.

Fondly remembered by many relatives in Canada, USA and Germany.

Rosina had retired after many years of faithful employment from the Emergency Department of Grand River Hospital (K-W Hospital) in 1991.  She was a faithful member at St. Matthews Lutheran Church and a proud member of the Transylvania Club.

The family would like to thank and are eternally grateful for the dedicated staff in Buttonworks at Sunnyside Home, for the kindness and compassion that surrounded our mother and Oma, while entrusted with her care.

Family and friends are invited to share their memories of Rosina with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 54 Benton Street, Kitchener on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 1 – 1:45 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Rosina’s life and faith will  follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Olavi Hepomaki officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener.  After the interment, a reception will be held in the church hall.
