Eleanor Fairhead

Obituary of Eleanor Diane Fairhead

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved wife and mother on June 25, 2017.  Eleanor leaves her husband Gerald and four children, Peter (Jackie Woodward) Julia, Tim (Jennifer Nixon) Kathleen (Mark Waschkowski) and her grandchildren Nicholas, Rachel, Michael, Jesse (1994), Andrew, Zachary, Matthew, Alexandria, and Tylar. She adored and was very proud of her family.

Eleanor was a mother first, wife second, teacher third and a dedicated friend to many.

Eleanor loved the cottage on Shaw Island on Lake Muskoka. Many fun and joyful years were spent there. She was the Rector’s wife in Elmvale Ontario, Quebec City, London Ontario and finally Wallaceburg. This was followed by 27 years of living in Waterloo in retirement followed by almost 3 years in Mississauga.

Eleanor felt very blessed to have loyal friends and family that she loved dearly.  Our family is thankful for the support from the doctors, nurses, and staff at Trillium Hospital 3rd and 6th floors.  Thank you for your compassion and humor that our family appreciated.  Rev. Stephen Peake from St. Brides Anglican Church, Mississauga, thank you for your care and kindness.

A Celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday July 7, 2017 at All Saints Anglican Church, 685 Highpoint Ave., Waterloo with Rev. Marty Levesque officiating.  A reception in the main hall of the church will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Alzheimer Society or to All Saints Anglican Church and can be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445.
