Obituary of Francis Frederick Abthorpe

ABTHORPE, Francis Frederick

1936 - 2017

Passed away on Saturday June 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 80 years. Loving and dedicated husband of Marilyn Abthorpe (nee Houlden). Dear father of Mary and Suzanne. He leaves behind son-in-law John Morscher and nieces and nephews Barbara, Bill, David, Elizabeth, Geoff, Jamie, Nancy and Thomas.

Frank was in born in Oshawa to father Thomas Abthorpe and mother Violet (nee Vardy). After leaving the Royal Canadian Air Force, he joined General Motors of Canada in Oshawa where he worked until his retirement. Always very active in his community, he was Warden of St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Pickering, Past Master of Friendship Lodge, Pickering and member of the Oshawa and District Shrine Club. His good humour and positive outlook will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place and interment will take place in Union Cemetery, Oshawa at a later date.
