Obituary of Erma May Cressman

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener six months after enjoying her 100th birthday celebrations in January. Lovingly remembered by her son David, his wife Anita and daughter Diane, her three grandsons Jeff (Cindy), James (Rachel) and Jon (Fiona). She cherished her 5 great-grandchildren Nadine, Ellie, Zayden, Xavier and Suri Cressman. Survived by her sisters Irene Weber, Doris Stevanus, and Ruth Shantz. Predeceased by her husband Fred (2002), her brother Edward Dedels and sister Thelma Randall. A devoted and active member of Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church, Erma also contributed to the broader community in a variety of roles. In 1986, she felt very honoured to be awarded the Canada Volunteer Award Certificate of Merit given in recognition for her dedication and involvement for over 10 years with the Clothing Centre (at Stirling Ave. Mennonite Church). Friends are invited to share their memories of Erma with her family during visitation at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, 57 Stirling Avenue North, Kitchener on Friday July 21, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following the service. Interment Memory Gardens, Breslau.
