It is with great sadness the family of Cameron G. Conrad announce his passing, peacefully at Grand River Hospital on October 13, 2017, born June 1, 1938 in St. Thomas, Ontario. Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sharon (nee Lauckner), his son Jeff, sisters Connie (Don) Enman of Nova Scotia, Carol Mailing of St. Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Cam graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1967. He was hired by the then Kitchener School Board, where he taught for several years in English and Theatre Arts, directing musicals such as 'Can Can' and 'South Pacific'. He later became Vice Principal of K.C.I. and Waterloo Oxford.
Cam advanced into administration where he initiated the 'Partners in Education' program at Budd Canada (known as Budd High), that allowed employees to learn after shift hours to earn their high school diplomas. Cam went on to enjoy a career filled with accomplishment until his retirement in 1996. As an avid nature lover and bird watcher, he spent his winters in Lakeland Florida where he enjoyed backyard sunsets over the lake, and perfected his golf swing and bird calls.
The family would like to thank Dr. Benaroia and the renal nurses, doctors and medical staff in the ICU at Grand River Hospital for their care and compassion.
