Obituary of Raymond Charles Bernard Beaudry

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 6, 2017 at age 91 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley of 64 years (March 11, 2017), loving father to Beverley (Vaughn) Embro-Pantalony (Burlington), Diane (Robert) Miller (Kitchener), and Ronald (Jessica) Beaudry (Kelowna).  Proud and loving Grandad to Ashley (Marty), Dustin (Robyn), Zachary (Caitlin) and Alexa (Brian).  Blessed great Grandad to Emma and Jackson.

Raymond was born February 24, 1926 in Windsor, Ontario, predeceased by his parents, Clara Hamelin (1967) and Pierre Alexandre Beaudry (1969).  He was predeceased by his siblings, Royal, Anita (Joseph), Rene (Gaby), Aldoma (Blanche), Alcide (Margorie) and Rita; and he is survived by his sister-in-law, Noreen Northcott.

Raymond was a proud veteran of the Second World War serving with The Cameron Highlanders of Canada.  Following the war, Raymond joined Mutual Life / Sun Life of Canada where he enjoyed a career that spanned 43 years and took him across Canada.  Raymond was a “Lifetime Member” of Chicopee Ski Club where he also served on the Board of Directors for many years and he was a founding member of Chicopee Ski Friends.  Over the years, Raymond volunteered with numerous community service organizations, including Kinsmen where he served as President, Kiwanis, and the Childrens’ Christmas Gift Box charity.  Raymond was a current member of the K-W Retired Business and Professional Men’s Club.  His passion was skiing with family and friends and he took his last ski run at 87.  Raymond had a great sense of humour and was always ready with a joke.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  Special thanks to the St. Mary’s Hospital 5th floor nurses and doctors for their exceptional care of Dad, and to the staff of Chartwell Westmount Retirement Residence.
