Joyce was one of a kind. I remember her as being full of energy, lots of conversation, laughs, genuinely interested in what you were doing and concerned how the family was doing. To me she was one of a hand full of people I can say I knew my whole life.
I had the privilege of being one of the "Gang" kids. Memories of Grand Bend of course with big barbeques, inner tubes, sun and sand came back this morning when I pulled out the pictures. Joyce and Bill, Sharon and Dave were front and centre. We camped with them later on as well, they visited in Montreal and I will never forget a surprise visit from Joyce and Bill when I was working out west as a summer student. They took me out for dinner and we talked for hours.
More recently Joyce kept in touch with me when my mom was ill and it was always calming to have those conversations with her.
Joyce was a wonderful friend to my parents and me.
My sincerest condolences go out to Bill, Sharon and Dave and their families.
