We are filled with sadness at the news of Dennis' passing. We were privileged to meet Dennis in Australia in the 90's and stayed good friends ever since. Dennis was our inline hockey coach, adventure companion and great mate. So many wonderful stories full of fun times. From his love of hockey, photography and a good red wine, Dennis was a deep thinker with a kind soul. We are so grateful to spend time with Dennis and Kris during their last trip Downunder. Big hugs to you Kris, Julie, Tom and families. Dennis will be greatly missed and long remembered. Our deepest condolences, thinking of you all. Our hearts go out to Kris and family as they grieve the tragic and unexpected passing of Dennis, much loved husband to Kris, beloved father and “Poppa”. It was only in recent years that Jim and I had the good fortune to get to know Kris and Dennis. We enjoyed time in their company over dinners and lunches, and with Dennis flipping burgers on the BBQ at their home in Grand Bend. With his typical Canadian passion for hockey and his relaxed and forthright personality, we can understand why he would make an amazing teacher and coach. We are overseas and regret we were not able to attend his funeral service. We are still in shock that he is no longer with us, but we will continue to carry him in our hearts. I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Bailey's passing. I attended Forest Heights Collegiate in the early 1980's and was fortunate enough to be taught by Mr. Bailey on several occasions during my five years there. Mr. Bailey, and other exceptional teachers like him, instilled in me a love of learning that has lasted me a lifetime.
