We were deeply saddened to hear of Ron’s passing, and our heartfelt sympathies are with Lynn and the entire family during this difficult time.
I had the privilege of knowing Ron since I was a youngster, and I always held a great deal of respect and appreciation for the man he was. My earliest memories of him are of a dynamic, personable, successful, kind, and charismatic individual who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Ron was clearly a hardworking man, and it was evident that he passed that trait down to his son and grandsons. I was always in admiration of the life he built and the happiness that was so clearly shared with Lynn.
Whenever I had the opportunity to visit their home on Hillside, I found myself inspired. The beautiful acreage, the home, the shiny Oldsmobile and sporty CRX in the driveway, and even the fine watch all spoke to the life he had created. But what stood out far more was his genuine care and curiosity for others. When Ron asked how you were doing, it was never just a passing question. He made you feel that he truly wanted to know.
It was always special to see him at the rink, supporting and cheering on his grandsons. You could clearly see the pride he had in them, and it was something that spoke volumes about the kind of man he was.
Since moving west a number of years ago, I did not have many chances to see him, but just before Christmas, I was fortunate to run into him in Milverton and catch up briefly. Even in that short time, he asked thoughtful questions and showed the same genuine interest and care. It was wonderful to see him, and he still carried that same infectious smile.
Vanessa and Ronnie will miss how genuinely kind he was, and how every interaction with him left them feeling valued, and engaged. His warmth, sincerity, and quiet way of making people feel important made a lasting impression on them.
Ron will be deeply missed, and his legacy through his family, his character, and the way he made people feel will not be forgotten.
