To Pat and family, my deepest condolences to you on the loss of Mike. I remember him as an amazing leader helping the work force in Calgary, building the division to one of the most successful for the corporation. That was the work side of Mike. I was blessed to have him as a boss and a friend. He was one of five of us from work, who ended up being lasting friends and fishing buddies. From maintenance crew to the upper levels of management and every level in between, we would gather once a year to head to northern Alberta for an annual fishing trip. I have such fond memories of those trips with Mike. He also graciously invited us to his cottage in Ontario as well for another fishing trip. That was just who Mike was; the best of the best. My memories of Uncle Mike reflect upon his strong presence amongst all those sisters, a wit and strong will, were ever present. I remember the Miller gatherings at the Buttonwood pool , following Uncle Mike’s rules having so much fun, with so many cousins. Sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I started my career as Mike's assistant in the Purchasing department of Electrohome in 1963 right out of business college. We spent many good days side-by-side in that office. I always enjoyed his kidding about my boyfriend (now husband). I was happy to learn what a great career he had after Electrohome.

I am so sad to hear about Mike’s passing. My condolences toPat and family. I was lucky that Mike came into life in Calgary at a critical period in my professional life. Most of us can count on one hand the people who who made a lifelong inpact on who they are and who they become. Mike was one of those special people who had a lasting impact on my professional lfe as I suspect he did on so many others. In fact over the years I would run into leaders duirng meetings and I could hear Mike in the words they used and the manner in which they expressed themselves. I learned so many profound lessons in leadership and ethical business acumen. He had a way of breaking things down to the basics in order to make it abundantly clear what action was required. He stood up for and did what was right even in tough conditions. Mike and I and a lot of fun and lots of laughs in the office and on the road. I can still hear his Mike-isms: Thing 1, ….” “ I gave him s*t in box car letters” The words that come to mind when I think of Mike: tough, empathetic, fun, open,decisive, critical thinker, family man, straight shooter, mentor. I sm so glad he had such a great life after Nortel. RIP mike. Richard Reid

Our most sincere condolences to the entire Ennis clan for your recent loss. I have many fond memories of Mike, although I must admit he was a little intimidating when I was a young boy. Rich (RJ) and I would often get mischievous and/or misbehave, and I always feared the repercussions if Mr. Ennis ever discovered the results of our mishaps. That led to young-me fixing many things around his homes on Buttonwood and Carrying Place. Fireplaces, doors, the list goes on. I always thought we'd get caught red-handed as mortar, drywall or paint dried. But we didn't. Or at least that's the way I remember it. Mike probably knew all along. Part of me likes to believe he was impressed just enough that we would try to fix our own messes, that he spared us the wrath we surely deserved. Although Mike will be sorely missed by many, I'm sure the fond memories will prevail over time. Lastly, a big long-distance hug to Pat. Had Mike ever confronted us on our many calamities, Pat would have quickly made everything better with her bright smile and her unmistakable laugh. Lots of love from Eric & Robin Nitsche.
