I worked with (Father) Don at St. David Junior High School in Waterloo in the early 70's when he was the Chaplin. Don had an eclectic personality that I always found endearing. He was persistent in challenging us and was counterculture. He had such a warm and natural smile. My condolences and sympathy to his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing. Life has changed not ended. The photo is from the 1974 school yearbook.

We, at Waterloo-Kitchener United Mennonite Church, enjoyed Don's passionate stance on a huge variety of topics. And he was always bold enough to pose difficult questions, and to support causes that deserved to be considered. He was a valued friend, and a worship companion, to many of us!

We are so very saddened to hear the news of Cousin Don's passing. Our condolences to the entire family. Don was a force to be reckoned with in so may ways. We always enjoyed his company. Whether it was when he shared his unique perspectives about the life and the world, planning a Forwell family gathering or encouraging everyone to sing. He often made me smile and laugh. We will miss him. Our hearts are with you. Brad Forwell & Kim Rowland PS. We are sorry but we will not be able to attend on Friday due to travel. But we will be there in spirit.
