Dr Paul Guild, your class BET 608 – Entrepreneurial Application of Technology was one of the most transformative experiences of my academic journey. Your wisdom, energy, and genuine care for your students left an everlasting impact on me, far beyond the classroom. To Inta, Emma, Jesse, Audrey, Millie, Alexander, and Eden, please accept my deepest condolences. Paul was not only an extraordinary professor but also a mentor and a guiding light to so many. I’m truly grateful for the way he challenged us to think bigger, act bolder, and always lead with integrity. Thank you, Paul, for everything you gave to your students, the University of Waterloo, and your family. Your legacy lives on in all of us who were privileged to learn from you.

I have many fond memories of Paul. We served together on a committee or two at the University of Waterloo, most notably Senate; whenever Paul spoke, people listened, not only because of his stature and beautiful voice, but because his interjections were always thoughtful and insightful. Paul was a true friend and mentor. He was always up for a chat and always offered good advice. He was also instrumental in my appointment as an Assistant Professor in 2000. He will be greatly missed.
