I have wonderful memories of Neil and his family when we were neighbours on Ezra Ave. The May 24 fireworks in the back yard, camping and fishing trips with my dad's home made trailer. I sadly lost touch with Neil and his family over the years and am saddened by the news of his passing. Marilyn (nee Young) & Floyd Querin. My sincere condolences to Neil's family.

I met Neil at the University of Toronto where we shared rooms in the St. George Graduate residence. We also shared an apartment a few years later while he was in Law School. I have wonderful memories of late night sessions with Neil discussing just about anything - from life to religion to politics to his latest meeting with his MA History Supervisor - usually accompanied by more than a few glasses of sherry. Neil had a keen intellect and was remarkably well-read and thoughtful. I remember those years with Neil very fondly. Sadly we lost touch in later years and I was greatly saddened by the news of his passing. He had much to offer. My sincere condolences to Neil's family.

Sadly, we had lost touch with Neil for some years. Learning of his passing was a terrible shock. He was a man of rare intelligence and great warmth, humour, and compassion. Always a supportive friend, he was awesomely well read, and he introduced us to some of our favourite books and music. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Jeffrey & Phyllis Miller

Pete Thistlethwaite and Tan Robertson made a donation to University of Waterloo Library We have known Neil since we purchased the home in which he resided in 2004. He was always kind, sweet and a pleasure to speak to. All three of our children were born while we lived above Neil and he would go out of his way to inquire about them and us and even after we moved out continued to keep in touch. He always treated us, and everyone around him, with kindness and thoughtfulness. His gentle spirit will be missed and we won't forget him. We will miss you Neil!
