Kim and Scott: I am saddened to hear of the passing of your father. I have enjoyed getting to know him over the past few years. He was a very determined person. Kim & Scott, your dad had a big influence on me - both in the way I approach my work and in the person that I have become. When I was first hired at Lou's Bearings straight out of school, my dad asked Harry to "take me under his wing" because my dad knew the greatness in Harry and was hoping that some of that would rub off on me! Your dad was the best kind of mentor - he was a great teacher with all the right philosophies, and a desire to instill his philosophies on those around him. I was lucky to have him then. And I was lucky to have him when we started our own company. I am sure that you are aware that your dad was good at what he did (it wouldn't be unlike Harry to tell you:)!) but I doubt you are aware of just HOW GOOD he was. Your dad was one of those fortunate few that find their true calling in life. To this day, whenever I see someone that is truly brilliant at what they do I think of your father. When I see an actor or singer who can leave me in awe and bring a tear to my eye simply by overwhelming me with their talent, I think of your dad. Your dad used to say to me "if you love what you do, you won't need to work a day in your life." But with as much as he loved his work, that paled in comparison to how much he loved the two of you and your mom. You were lucky to have him as your father.

Hi Kim, my sincerest condolences to you and family. I remember when my mom passed away, my aunt gave me a card with this passage. I took comfort in these words, hope you can too... "Don't think of him as gone away — his journey has just begun, life holds so many facets — this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting, from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort, where there are no days and years. Think of how he must be wishing, that he could know today, that nothing but our sadness, can really pass away. And think of him as living, in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost — and he was loved so much.
