After immigrating to Canada in 1951, Bob applied his business degree to the restaurant trade becoming the successful owner of his own restaurants in Woodstock and Kitchener for almost 40 years. Many local residents fondly remember the Long Wah Restaurant in downtown Kitchener as a friendly family run business with great food.
Bob had a passion for hockey and would never miss a Hockey Night in Canada game on Saturday night. After retirement, he loved to walk, swim, play cards and to get together with friends to play Mah Jong and most recently Crokinole.
Many remember “Uncle Bob” as easy going, with a fun personality, who always wanted to make people happy. Family was his priority and he cherished his grandchildren, often cheering them on at their sporting events.
The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at both Grand River Hospital Intensive Care Unit A and Hospice Wellington for their care and compassion.
Friends are invited to share their memories of “Uncle Bob” with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Friday, January 11, 2019, from 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
