Ray Schugardt passed away suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 66 on March 23, 2020 in Waterloo, Ontario.
Ray was born in Hamburg, Germany to Ernst-Gerhardt and Hansine Elfriede Marie Schugardt (Beusse) on May 24, 1953. He worked as a Senior Executive Services Specialist at Blackberry for 10 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his three granddaughters. He was a member of the Milverton Rod & Gun Club. He also enjoyed boating with friends, hosting backyard barbeques, and putzing around the house and garden.
Ray is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ingrid, son Jeff Schugardt (Agnes), granddaughter Sophie, daughter Christine Karnowski (Kristopher), granddaughters Mischa and Kassia, stepmother Edeltraut Schugardt, sister Sabine Stout (Ron), nephews Josh and Jordan, niece Sarah and 4 great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernst-Gerhardt and his mother Hansine Elfriede Marie Schugardt (Beusse).
Due to current COVID-19 protocol there will be no visitation or funeral service. The family will be organizing a celebration of life at a future date. Details of these arrangements will be announced at a later time.
