<h1>Hazel Spry</h1> 1916 – 2006 Hazel passed away peacefully, on Friday December 22, 2006, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, after a long and courageous battle with cancer over a ten year period. Hazel was the beloved wife and best friend of Charles “Bert” Spry, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Doug Spry and his wife Prue of Ottawa, Bob Spry and his wife Joan of London and Dave Spry and his wife Cheryl of Etobicoke. She will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, Cynthia, Jennifer, Adam, Graham, Paul and John and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Black) and Louis Buckley; brother Jack Buckley and brothers-in-law Jack Spry (Helen) and F. O. Lorrie Spry. Hazel’s life revolved around her family, her friends in the women’s group at Trinity United Church, the church’s Mr. and Mrs. Club, Westmount Golf and Curling Club, the Women’s Probus Club of Kitchener-Westmount, and the K-W Garden Club. She enjoyed her many winters in Florida, the summers with her family and friends at the cottage on Lake Muskoka and the trips abroad with the K-W Art Gallery Group. Honoring Hazel’s personal wishes cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Hazel with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb and Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street, Waterloo, on Sunday, December 24, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Hazel’s life and faith will be held at Trinity United Church, 74 Frederick Street, Kitchener on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jack Paleczny officiating. The family wishes to thank Dr. Williamson and the staff at Freeport Hospital, Union Terrace for their wonderful care and concern.
