Obituary of Bryan Hugh Ray

Passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2016, surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 71. Survived by his wife and best friend Patti, his little canine buddy Simba, his son Kevin, daughter Charlene and grandson Kyle. Bryan is also survived by his brother Daryl, his sister D’Arcy (Bob), sisters-in-law Gail, Tanya (Steve) Bunnett, brothers-in-law Tom (Kelly) Nabrotzky, Oli (Janis) Nabrotzky, many nieces and nephews as well as several relatives in Saskatchewan. Bryan was predeceased by his parents Glen and Lillian Ray (nee Brown). Bryan, also known as “Grizz” to his friends, was employed with Clemmer Industries/Steelcraft from 1968-2012. Bryan will be remembered for his sense of humour and as a lifelong, dedicated Detroit Red Wings fan despite his Maple Leaf friends. Bryan was proud of his time served in the Royal Canadian Navy. A special thanks to his friends Bill and Ken for their help and friendship throughout the years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bryan with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 9:30am – 10:45 am. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers and to represent Bryan’s love for children and animals, donations to the Howe Foundation, The Farley Foundation or New Toys for Needy Kids Toy Drive may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
