Obituary of Emma Helen Morrison
The gates of heaven opened wide and this special person walked inside. Emma continued her journey on November 23, 2016, at the age of 95 leaving behind a loving family and cherished friends. Emma’s family was the center of her life. Her children, Gregory, (deceased 2005),(Margaret) of Newmarket, Dan (Susan) of Cambridge and Judy Morrison of Regina, sons and daughter of special friend and former husband, George Morrison of Toronto. She had a special place in her heart for her two cherished grandsons, Aaron (Elise) of Brampton and Graham (Rachelle) of Uxbridge and great grandson, Chattam. Emma is survived by many nieces and nephews and had a close friendship with niece Jo-Marie.
Emma was born and raised in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and moved to Ontario in her twenties to marry and raise her family. She was a hardworking homemaker who cooked and baked to everyone’s delight. A special treat was her yearly plum dumplings and scrumptious date turnovers. Emma had a special love of teddy bears and enjoyed many years of making her own unique teddy bears for those she loved and donating many to fundraising benefits.
In her later years, Emma moved to Barnswallow Place in Elmira where she embraced her second family. She found friendship and a loving atmosphere with her special caregivers who gave her great comfort and loving support for 11 years.
Emma is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elsie Schreiber, two brothers and three sisters.
Emma lived her life to the fullest every day. She had an infectious laugh and would brighten your day with her wonderful sense of humour. Emma taught us to look on the bright side and find humour where others might find woe. Her teachings are immeasurable, her love unconditional, her memories forever.
