Thum, Shirley May

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday July 10, 2017 at Innisfree Hospice, Kitchener, at the age of 78.

Shirley leaves beloved husband Manfred, son Randy Shaw, grandchildren Matthew and Kayla Shaw, daughter Jodie Fera (Drew) and granddaughters Adrien and Erin. She also leaves her grandson, Kyle Pulido, her sister Fay Kunz (Rick) of Delta, BC, and sister-in-law Rita Ross of Kelowna, BC. She is predeceased by her daughter Darlene Moxey and grandson Tyler, her sister, and dearest friend, Maureen McKnight, and brother Robert Ross. Shirley will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.

Shirley loved singing with Grand Harmony Chorus, being an active member for over 20 years, where she also volunteered her sewing skills to the costuming committee. Shirley will be remembered for her kind and gentle manner, her generosity, and sense of humour. She enjoyed musicals and movies, and was a terrific cook.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Shirley with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday July 18, 2017 from 3:30 - 4:15 p.m. A Memorial service will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Reception to follow.
