Obituary of Elizabeth Ann West

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, at the age of 77.

Elizabeth leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Paul, her daughter and son, Christine and James, and her sister Nancy.

Daughter of Stan and Helen Mederak (both now deceased), Elizabeth was born February 18, 1940, in Kitchener, Ontario.  As a young adult, she followed her interests in travel, horseback riding, and photography; when she married Paul in 1970, home and family life became her focus.  Her interests then included painting ceramics and china, beautiful examples of which her family and friends still cherish.

Elizabeth was a strong-willed and resourceful woman, generous with her time, and shared close connections with her loved ones.  To the end of her life, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, and a good cup of tea.  She will be deeply missed.
