Obituary of Corrie Deinas
We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Corrie Deinas, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in Lindsay.
Born November 13, 1923, in Murmerwouda, Friesland, Netherlands, she was the beloved wife of Gerhard Deinas (2010) for 36 years. She was the loved mother of Andrew (Kathy), Janet Percival, Patti Siegel (Len) and David (Mary). She was much loved Oma of Josh Anstett (Ji Hyun), Jen Anstett (Paul), Aaron Siegel, Kaleigh Anstett (Andrew), Jessica Anstett (Colin), Keira Anstett (Craig), Jessica Mall (Sohail), and Kaitlin Anstett (Sean). Great-grandmother of Mason, Lincoln, Jack and Claire. Corrie will be missed by her sisters Nellie, Alice and Jenny and brothers Gerard, John and Ted. She was predeceased by siblings Meindert, Sjoerd, Marie, and Dieuwke.
Corrie loved the cottage on Georgian Bay, where she spent her summers with her husband, children and grandchildren hiking, picking blueberries, fishing, boating and feeding the chipmunks. Her garden there prospered in spite of the deer. Her trusty rowboat, ‘Glory Be’, transported her to visit friends on neighbouring islands. She was very proud that she lived independently in her condominium, continuing to build new friendships and nurture her existing ones until the day she died.
We invite visitors to the Erb & Good Funeral Home, 171 King St., S. Waterloo, for visitation on Thursday, April 19, from 2 – 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m.. The funeral will be held in the chapel on Friday, April 20, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Bob Parks officiating. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
Condolences for the family and donations to Benton St. Baptist Church or the Salvation Army, may be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519 743 8445.
