Margareta Moric

Obituary of Margareta Moric

February 11, 1930 to April 22, 2018

She was born in Hamm Germany, the second of five children, to August and Theresa Langer.  She grew up during the second world war, under tough conditions, escaping the bombs and relocating twice.

She married Jozef in 1951, and settled in Dortmund Germany, where they were soon joined by sons Edward and Raymond.

They emigrated to Canada in 1961, in the ship SS Arkadia.  Landing in Montreal and destined for Kitchener, where they had been advised of a sizable German population.

After a few career changes, she found herself as a veneer inspector at Electrohome/Deilcraft.

She was a member of various choirs and other activities at the Concordia Club, especially in the early days of Oktoberfest in the Kitchener Waterloo area.

In 1974, they bought and operated the Dornoch General Store near Durham.  On their return to Kitchener, ten years later, she resumed her active life with the Concordia Club, St. Anthony Daniels church and various social clubs.

They enjoyed traveling the world as well as wintering at their Florida home.  When Jozef passed away in 2010, she continued to spend the cold winter months in Myrtle Beach SC, with their many friends.

Her greatest love was her growing family.  She was predeceased by her husband and her grandson Rob Moore and is survived by her sons Edward (Betty), Raymond (Barbara), and grandchildren Laurie Hooper, Christopher Moric (Angela), Adam Moric, Brenton Moric (Dana), Debbie Moore and great grandchildren  Matthew, Joshua, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Michael, Brittney, Joseph, Ava and great great grand daughter Carma.
