To Harvey's beloved family~
I write you from Trinity United Church in North Bay-- a place that Harvey knew for a time as his spiritual home.
During worship yesterday, we shared that we'd recently lost two former choir members, Harvey Snyder and Jessie Banks. We remembered you in the context of prayer, and we sang lustily to the accompaniment of the organ to which Harvey game so much blood, sweat, and tears!
After church it was my privilege to hear a number of stories from Harvey's friends-- many of whom would be too elderly to attend his funeral. Harvey is remembered by some as serious, and by others as having a sly sense of humour. I'm told that he set a high standard for himself and for others-- and didn't hesitate to express his feelings when the choir was not singing up to its potential! It was not just in the classroom that Harvey was a gifted teacher-- and he taught people a lot, not limiting himself only to music.
We remember Harvey with love and fondness, grateful for the many ways in which God blessed the world through his faithfulness, and his example.
With prayers and blessings,
Rev. Ted Harrison
On behalf of Trinity Church, and its choir.
