Karen Dietrich

Obituary of Karen Isabelle Dietrich

Karen passed away peacefully at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved wife, best friend, and soulmate of 50 years to Tom.  Deeply loved by her children Andrea (Bob), Trevor (Tracy), Tim (Wendy) and Terry (Erin).  Adored and loved by her grandchildren Megan, Matthew, Dylan, Hannah, Logan, Brynne and Leah.  Survived by her brothers Paul (Mary), Mike (Marianne), Mark (Cathie), her sister Jane (Doug) and sisters-in-law Gloria and Ann.

Predeceased by her parents Jerome and Louise Kraemer, her sister Dorothy and her brothers-in-law Larry, Don, Clayt and Kevin along with her sister-in-law Hilda.

Karen was an active member of the St. Clement RC Church including the Christian Mother’s Society, Adult Choir and Retrofit Fundraising Committee.  She was also the Past Treasurer of the St. Clements Community Center Board.  Karen first started her career as an elementary school teacher then chose to stay home and raise her children.  Upon returning to the workforce, she held several different jobs which touched many lives.  Her innate ability to connect with others led to everlasting friendships.  Most importantly, Grandma was the biggest fan watching her grandchildren play sports.

Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Karen with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S. Waterloo on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:45 p.m.  Parish Prayers will be held on Friday evening at 8:45 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Clement R.C. Church, 3619 Lobsinger Line, St. Clements, with the Rev. J. Martin Mikulski, S.A.C. as Celebrant.  Interment to take place at St. Clement R.C.
