Dear Peter and family - we remember your mom with much fondness and appreciation for her kindness and caring nature. As a boy growing up across the street on Old Mill Terrace in the sixties, Mrs. Hunter introduced my family and the neighbourhood to many new ideas and experiences that were ahead of her time. She was truly a global citizen and a lot of fun to be with! With our sincere condolences - Cheryl and John Collings

Vivian was the Canadian mother of my late husband Dr Eliud Wangusi .Dr Wangusi met Vivian as a student from Kenya way back in early 60's . Vivian took a trip to Kenya and even visited the rural Kenya . Whwnnwe relocated to USA Dr Wangusi visited Vivian immediately he had just moved to live in Assisted home . Dr Wangusu cherished that special relationship and was forever grateful that Vivian hosted him at her home at Kitchner

I have been trying to find out how to get in touch with Peter. I heard the sad news from Bev DeJong on Facebook, but she had no contact. Peter I am sure you know how much Vivian meant to me, in fact both you and your Mom. We shared so many wonderful memories such as our perfect Thanksgiving dinners and hikes. Vivian was one of the most selfless persons I have ever had the joy of calling a friend. I am happy that she died peacefully and I wish you and your family much happiness. I never hear the song "Gloria" without thinking of you.My email is above if you ever feel like a catch up. I have been in San Miguel now 21 years. Hard to believe. my sympathy and my love Agnes

Vivien was the most unique and adventurous of the three Martin girls. I always will remember Janis's introduction lunch to the family in Terra Cotta, with laughter and love. Viv introduced us to vegetarian cooking, very avanguard in the 1980's, by serving avocado pie, stewed celery and jellied consume for lunch. I am afraid it was not much appreciated, at the time, by Peter, John, Martin or myself. Janis was more accepting of the cuisine. It was a lovely time and has made a family memory and blazed the trail for enjoyment of vegetarian foods today.

So sorry to hear of Vivians passing. She was a lovely soft spoken woman and have fond memories of a reunion at her Terra Cotta home where we certainly enjoyed cross country skiing. Good times remembered of chatting with her at family reunions. Thoughts are with you Peter and your family .

Vivian was quite a lady. We knew she was involved in helping Tibetans, but not the extent of her work. And to meet the Dalai Lama twice! The world needs more people like Vivian.

Dear Peter: Many years have passed but some of my fondest memories are of you and Vivian - the times together on Monaghan Road, Chemong Lake and in Toronto. Your Mom was a generous and gracious person. May your memories of her, help you through your time of loss.

Vivian was such a grand lady. I remember her poise and wisdom. We needed lots of her wisdom from all the stuff we would do at family reunions. My parents always enjoyed her company. They ofter talked about all the things she did to better the world.
Our condolences to you and your family.

To Peter, Cindy, Meghan, Brianna and the entire Hunter clan please accept our condolences at this time. I will always remember Vivian as an energetic person who loved life and who was devoted to her family. With Vivian's encouragement, the Hunters, Wesleys, Findlays , Todds and Johnstons became so close knit so many years ago and this, in turn, helped lay a strong foundation for us all to thrive in. Vivian was always pursuing knowledge and would share this with anyone who would listen. Her personality and spark was intense and will be missed by us all. However the memories and experiences gained during those years will never leave us. Thanks Vivian for the road trips, cottage weekends, wilderness hikes, stimulating conversations and for putting up with all of the awful music and antics you had to endure during our teenage years. Steve Wesley
