Obituary of Winnifred Loyola Kean
Passed away unexpectedly at Village of Winston Park Retirement, Kitchener on Sunday June 10, 2018, age 91.
Beloved wife of the late Lloyd Kean (2011). Dear mother of Myra and her husband Philip Henhoeffer, and Emily and her husband Craig Martin. Will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Ryan Henhoeffer, and Gwyneth and Declan Martin.
Predeceased by her parents Floyd and Ida Green, and brother Ellwood Green.
Winnifred was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and lived in Vancouver and Calgary throughout her childhood, eventually settling with her parents and brother in Guelph, Ontario. She spent many years working as a bookkeeper until her marriage to Lloyd in 1961. They lived in Guelph until 1968, then moved to Bruce County to farm. Being a city girl, Winnifred was a real trooper and took on country life just as she approached everything in life, with determination and a will to succeed. She was a longtime, dedicated member of the Women’s Institute at Knox Presbyterian Church in Teeswater. In 1984, after Lloyd’s retirement, they moved to Kitchener where they finished raising their daughters and enjoyed retirement, and their friends at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Kitchener.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Winnifred with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, June 15, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 248 Westmount Rd.
