Obituary of Patricia Ruth Wilkes

Patricia Ruth Wilkes, in her 89th year, at Columbia Forest Long Term Care in Waterloo on July 1, 2018.

Born Patricia McEachren in Windsor on July 24, 1929, she was predeceased by her husband Walt (2009), with whom she shared 58 years of marriage and three children — Jim of Mississauga, John of Fort Pierce, Florida and Barbara Thiel (Gary) of Waterloo. She leaves six grandchildren — James Wilkes, John and Jenny Thiel, Johnathan and Johanna Wilkes and Jacklyn Kennedy. She also leaves three great-granddaughters and a cat named Tabi on whom she doted.

She loved us all, but we suspect she loved singer Johnny Mathis more.  Pat loved to paint and knit for charities across Kitchener-Waterloo. In earlier years, she and Walt traveled extensively and spent winters at their vacation home in Florida.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Columbia Forest Long Term Care and the Court At Laurelwood Retirement Home for their compassionate care.

Cremation has taken place. At Pat’s request, there will be no funeral service.
