Obituary of Frances Pearl Clappison

Frances passed away peacefully at her home in Waterloo on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in her 92nd year.

Beloved wife of Philip Clappison for 68 years.  Loving mother of Philip, Stephen (Carolyn), Susan, Elizabeth de Boer (Neil), and Margaret.  Cherished grandmother of Emily (Chris), Seanachi, Sarah (Michael), Anailsi, Andrew, Laura, and Matthew.  Dear sister of Jean Phalp, Pauline Graham (James), sister-in-law Lola Brubacher, and brother Sheldon Brubacher (Barbara).

Pre-deceased by her parents Ralph Brubacher and Bella Mae Weber, brothers Claude, Harold (Isobel), Gerald, brother-in-law Brian Phalp, and sisters Grace Waters (Don), Alice McDonald (Jack and Bob), and Beatrice Stephenson (Glynn).

Frances embraced learning throughout her life.  She graduated as a Registered Nurse in February 1949 and obtained an Honours BA in Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo in 1985. She loved growing perennials in her garden, sailing in both fresh and saltwater, and traveling abroad.

The Clappison family will receive relatives and friends at First United Church, 16 William St. West, Waterloo on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  A memorial service to celebrate Frances’ life will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kellie McComb officiating.  A reception will immediately follow in the church.  A private family interment will be held at Calvary United Cemetery, St. Jacobs.
