So many memories have been with me for the past couple of days.
Aunt Irene was a large part of my childhood. She was almost 7 when I was born. She was Mom's youngest sister.
Along with Aunt Marge she played with me, babysat me often , taught me to ride a bike, roller skate, jitterbug (dance) and play chop sticks on the old piano. They both had to take me to school. It was a long walk and I was a pain in the neck when they really wanted to keep up with their friends. I remember her teen years. The three of us have had the chance to reflect on these events and laughing.
I also enjoyed living near her and getting to know her family when my husband was posted to Base Borden for four years. She got me playing Bingo and I have never seen anyone able to play more cards at once than she did.
She was fun, a hard worker, full of energy, and loved her family .
What I did admire a lot was her ability to do her best and carry on whenever she encountered a problem. She always looked for a solution.
My condolences to all of her family. She was very proud of all of you.
Love June
