Obituary of Anthony (Tony) Jacob Hergott

Tony passed away peacefully at his home in Waterloo, with family at his side, on Monday, August 20, 2018, in his 93^rd year.

Beloved husband of Madeline (nee Wagner) for 68 years, loving father and grandfather of David and wife Darlene (Jacqueline and Darryl), Greg and wife Joanne (Joe, Jerrid, Elizabeth, James, Stéphanie), Paul and wife Deborah (Matthew and Jaclyn), and Dale and friend Sue (Brittany, Stacey and Kelsey).  Fondly remembered by eleven great-grandchildren.  Tony is survived by sister Delores Sienna, brother Leonard Hergott (Frances), and sister-in-law Marie Hergott.

Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Emily Hergott, siblings Rita Koebel (Kenneth), Edwin (Shirley), George (Bernice), Elizabeth Dietrich (Clarence), John (Bernice), William, Patrick (Shirley), Rosemary, and brother-in-law Francis Sienna.

Tony was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Parish in Waterloo, worked for 50 years at Sunar Hauserman, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 530 Waterloo.  The family wishes to thank all the PSWs, doctors and nurses for their help and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Tony during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a Legion Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael’s RC Church, 80 University Ave. W. (at Hemlock St.), Waterloo on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with a reception immediately following in the parish hall.  Interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo following the reception.
