Obituary of Marie Walther

Passed away at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo, at the age of 87. Born in Reesor, Ontario. Beloved wife of Edwin, who predeceased her in 1970. Cherished Mother and best friend of Janet. Loved sister of Frieda (late Ralph) Hoeft of Kitchener and John (Roma) Epp of Waterloo, and sister-in-law of Frederick (Barbara) Walther of Kitchener. Also survived by godchildren, Ruth Willfang, Judy Staley and Frederick Walther Jr., and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, John Martin Epp and Anna Friesen, sisters and brothers-in-law Helen (John) Epp, Anna (Rudy) Szozda, Katherine (Henry) Bergen, Joyce (Tony) Wolske, Elizabeth (Gordon) Ziegler, Susan (Stan) Gross, Erma (Doug) King and Agnes Collins, infant brother, Jacob, sisters- and brothers-in-law Pauline (Emil) Hornburg, Stella (Ervin) Hoerl, Norma (Bill) Peterson, Irene (Clarence) Hahn, Daisy Walther and Douglas Walther.

Marie was employed at Huck Glove in Kitchener for 51 years, retiring as forelady of the sewing room in 1996. She was an adventurous traveller and avid gardener, and loved jigsaws and word search puzzles. Special thanks to Drs. Michael Casey, Marvin Gretzinger, Julie Maidment and Robert Stephens for their excellent care over the years, and to the wonderful staff at Pinehaven. A reception will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m, at Erb & Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo.
