Obituary of Jerome (Jerry) F. Bauer

Jerry passed away unexpectedly in Italy, while hiking with his loving partner and best friend Paige Calvert, on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the age of 51.

Beloved son of Harriet J. Bauer who passed away on September 3, 2018.  Dear brother of Anne Nauman (Hugh), David, Philip (deceased in 1994) and sister-in-law Genevieve Farrell, Patrick, Dick (Susan), Deb Wood (Tim), Greg, Matthew (deceased in 1963), Mary Brady (Con), Cathy Hanafy (Ayman) and brother-in-law of Erin Simpson (David) and Ryan Calvert (Alisha).  Uncle Jerry will be tremendously missed by his many nieces and nephews.  He is survived by Paige’s parents Bill and Sandra Calvert.

Predeceased by his father Jerome F. Bauer in 1982.

After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier, Jerry moved west in 1991 to pursue his MBA from the University of British Columbia, where he immediately fell in love with the Vancouver coast and mountains.  He was an accomplished CEO and business leader who always made time for his family, friends and community.  Jerry was an avid rock climber, backcountry skier, world traveler and collector of wine. 

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6-8 p.m.   A memorial service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.   A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Room.  Private family interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.
