Obituary of Rose Mary Kampman
Rose passed away on Sunday September 30, 2018 at Forest Heights Long Term Care, two weeks short of her 101st birthday. Beloved Aunt of Barbara Baur ( Chris ), Liz Cybalski & her husband Denny, Nancy McIver and Mark McIver ( Lisa ), Jeff Dixon ( Faith ). Lovingly remembered by her great nieces and nephews and her 6 great great nephews. Predeceased by her parents Frederick & Anne Kampman. Brothers, George ( Olive ) , John, Bill ( Alma ) Bingo and Frederick Kampman. Sisters, Helene, Mary, Gertrude, Margaret, Kaye, Ursula ( Ed McIver ) and her niece / God daughter Cathy Dixon and niece Carolyn. Rose was a remarkable woman. She was one of the first women to own a car in Kitchener ( 1940 ). She owned and operated the store “The Blessed Event Shop”, which dealt in high fashion maternity clothes. Est 1953. Rose was an accomplished golfer and belonged to Westmount Golf and Country Club for many years, winning many tournaments throughout her career. She was a wonderful “ Bridge” player and enjoyed tennis, badminton, curling and travelling in her earlier years. We would like to thank the staff at Conestoga Lodge and Forest Heights Long Term Care for the wonderful care given to Rose over the past 5 years. As per Rose’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony Daniel R. C. Church 29 Midland Drive, Kitchener on Wednesday October 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. Fr. Allen Varkaki officiating. Cremation to follow.
